LOCAL ANESTHETICS MAY DAMAGE YOUNG DEVELOPING TEETH
A fascinating investigation conducted by researchers from China and the UK found that local anesthetics may damage pulp cells of developing permanent teeth.
Dr. Bing Hu, the principal investigator, and his team, found a link between local anesthetics and the failure of young permanent tooth buds to develop to maturity. The investigators reported their findings in Cell Death Discovery, September, 2015…How should this affect how we treat children under the age of 18? According to the researchers, a low dose and a low concentration of a local anesthetic minimizes the potential for pulp damage.
As an alternative, consider simply using infiltration and a very small volume of intra-ligamentary anesthesia to avoid a nerve block, according to these investigators. LINK

WHO RUNS MEDICAL/ DENTAL EDUCATION IN INDIA?
Did you know that any person in the Union of India ( not necessarily a doctor or dentist) can challenge the authority and position of the President of the Medical or Dental Council. In a recent order by the Kerala High Court, the Honourable Judge has given an order that a writ petition filed by Dr V. Viswanath and Dr M. Ravindranath challenging the authority of Dr Dibeyendu Mazumdhar to be the President of DCI, is maintainable. This opens the gates to challenge the membership of the President of DCI who many of us believe has usurped office in violation of the Dentists Act. His membership under 3( d) from two private Universities, one in Jharkand and the other in Uttar Pradesh is highly questionable because these institutions cannot technically elect persons to the DCI. Even more enigmatic is the fact that Dr Mazumdhar is shown as a faculty in both these institutions even while he is an employee of the West Bengal Government. If that is not enough, the Government of West Bengal ( in an RTI reply) reiterates that it is not even aware that their employee Dr Mazumdar is supposed to be a honorary teacher in two other states!
Who is ruling our statutory bodies? It is high time we stood up and questioned our so called authorities! We have questioned it in the past and we need to do so now- whoever be the person!!!!

Beijing judge suggested that the dispute be settled once and for all by Angelababy having her face examined by medical professionals to prove that she never had plastic surgery.
For her part, the model turned actress has always said that her looks are due to a German grandfather, makeup and dental work as a teen. MORE HERE
