31 year Dentist dies at operation table- Gynecologist booked
Dr Hemavathi Vivekanandan, a dentist, was shifted to the hospital on January 6 for laparoscopic surgery. She was taken to the operation theatre around 8pm. Dr Latha later came out to say Hemavathi had suffered a cardiac arrest. She passed from AECS Maaruti College of Dental Sciences.
A shell-shocked family urged her and others to shift Hemavathi to a better hospital. After much dilly-dallying, the 31-year-old was shifted to Fortis Hospital in Nagarabavi around 5am. But she was declared brought dead.
Police has booked Latha Inamndar of Trupti Nursing Home under Section 304A (causing death due to negligence) of IPC…. NEWS LINK

Bleaching can affect oral health-related quality of life
Teeth whitening is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in dentistry today. But a new study has found that although it has a positive impact on patients’ quality of life — for instance they smile more without embarrassment — it also has downsides, such as difficulty in brushing teeth and pain resulting from treatment (Journal of Dentistry, December 4, 2013).
The study findings showed that at-home bleaching with 10% or 16% carbamide peroxide could have both positive and negative impacts on oral health-related quality of life, supporting the notion that professionals should handle patients.
