NY dentist made holes in condoms to spread HIV- Arrested
A criminal complaint prosecutors filed on Dr John Wolf also states that he is H.I.V.-positive and that, according to an informer, he said he had punctured holes in condoms “in an intentional attempt to spread the H.I.V. to his sexual partners.”

MDS courses on sick bed
The lone government dental college of the state, which is in Indore, may not get recognition for continuing the MDS courses due to delay in the affiliation process by the Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University.
In its recent meeting, the Dental Council of India (DCI) observed that recognition for the fourth batch at the college can’t be granted as it lacked affiliation. Meanwhile, Principal of college Dr Deshraj Jain said that they have provided the required dental chairs and other equipment and have already applied for the affiliation with the university….NEWSLINK

Poor response for dentist posts
There are about 18 dentists enrolled for treating patients under the Aarogyasri in the private sector in the entire Telangana and close to 40 applications are said to be pending. Although the Trust authorities had relaxed the norms a wee bit to allow smaller hospitals/clinics to get empanelled, the response has been poor….LINK

Single course of antibiotics is strong enough to disrupt the normal makeup of microorganisms in the gut for up to a year, potentially leading to antibiotic resistance, says research published in mBio. The microorganisms in participants’ feces were severely affected by most antibiotics for months. In particular, researchers saw a decline in the abundance of health-associated species that produce butyrate, a substance that inhibits inflammation, cancer formation and stress in the gut.
